Born and bred in Switzerland, Stromer is one of the few e-bike companies that make its entire manufacturing, customer service, design, and r&d solely in-house and in-country. This has been the case since its founding in 2009.

The brand espouses enthusiasm in everything it does and what it offers. As of this writing, its headquarters is still at Oberwangen in Bern and has been there since 2013. Idealism and creativity are but some of the positive qualities tied to its name.

Stromer specializes in designing urban electric bicycles that are top-of-the-range. The brand knows how to push the limits as evidenced by the collection of qualities most of its models have. These include patently powerful motors, above-average speeds, and riding ranges, superb design, and unsurpassed technology all rolled into one.
In short, you’re paying for top-tier e-bikes that are made with genuine innovation in mind if you decide to choose a Stromer electric cycle. Coupled with the sky-high price tags of some of its models, everything in the catalog more than fits how we regard anything that has the “Swiss design” label.

Since the brand chooses to focus on only these two categories, we’ve decided to leave a concise review of each line in the catalog. We’ll briefly highlight the standout qualities of each one for your reference.
That being said, though, plenty of its models do share essential features.
A good example of this is the 180 km (110 miles) riding range ceiling found in most models. Only the ST7 is the odd one out in that it actually pushes that limit to 260 km, which tops at over 160 miles. This is all thanks to the battery upgrade feature found in all Stromer models. An added bonus is that the batteries charge fast (3 hours tops) for most models.

Practically all Stromer e-bikes also incorporate brand-original, virtually noise-free hub motors that allow them to reach 28 mph (45 km/h) or even 29.5 mph (47 km/h) that rivals Tour de France speed levels. All the e-bikes also share a sleek and highly techy design that has originality written all over it.
Another shared quality is the technology used in the LCD display. Most integrate the OMNI C display, which essentially serves as its “brain”, that connects to the OMNI BT app via Bluetooth connection. With the help of a special 3G sim card, Stromer electric bicycles are able to connect and even “talk” to your smartphone and make data transfer between the two butter smooth.
Not only does it display essentials like battery levels, speed, and location, but it also allows you to enjoy other privileges like GPS localization, an alarm system, better overall theft protection, and getting regular updates.

Stromer puts emphasis on making its models impart a considerably pleasurable ride. This is brought about by the customizable riding positions, which give you complete control over how you want to ride. The torque sensors found in a majority of the models are very responsive.
Most also come with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with greater stopping power that are pretty much a given.
As for accessories, we love that almost all the models come with fenders, headlights, tail lights, kickstands, rear racks, and even bells. They’re all apparently made of top-notch materials as well, such as the custom, double-wall alloy Stromer uses in its fenders.
Stromer ST1 Model Line
The ST1 has undergone numerous improvements over the years since its release. Many love it for its overall versatility and obvious quality, all of which are available for a far more affordable (but still no less high-end) price than its counterparts in the Stromer catalog.
It’s not for nothing that it’s regarded as the equivalent of a Porsche among e-bikes. The eye-catching Stromer aesthetics are without question, even if it’s the most budget-friendly choice.
While its 30+ Nm torque, 500W motor may pale slightly in comparison to others in the catalog, it’s still no pushover when delivering reliable power when needed – and may even exceed any rider’s expectations at any time.

The 55-mile (90 km) riding range average can also be doubled further, up to the point that it can be on par with the more advanced models in the catalog, thanks to the battery upgrade capability.

Stromer ST2 Model Line
This (ST2) model’s carbon belt drive is not only smooth but very low maintenance as well. It packs more punch thanks to the 750W motor, which comes with a Gen 2 TMM Sensor. With this quality, it’s able to make shorter work of more challenging hills than the ST1.
You can’t fault the comfort as well since it offers by default an upright riding condition, which is supported by a reliable suspension fork. The E-Gridlock thick tires exhibit generous traction with high slip and puncture resistance.

Overall, it’s an exceptionally designed e-bike that’s packed with the amazing, trademark tech Stromer models are known for.

Stromer ST3 Model Line
The ST3, like the ST5, offers more shifting options (up to 11) compared to “lesser” models like the ST1 and ST2. That essentially means lower effort is needed when pedaling with either model.
What we like about the ST3 is that its 600W motor is just 4 Nm shy of matching the ST5’s 48 Nm torque. All the while, it costs more than $2,500 cheaper than the ST5. It’s also quite the runaway when it comes to comfort as evidenced by the better adjustable stem and ergonomic handlebars.

It’s certainly a bonafide upgrade compared to the ST1 and ST2, but it does maintain most if not all the qualities that make those models excellent.

Stromer ST5 Model Line
The ST5 is a sportier choice as evidenced by the higher 48Nm of torque and the standard battery range limit of 110 miles (180 km), both of which are imparted by the 850W motor and 985Wh battery. The motor noticeably accelerates way faster, too, allowing it to reach the 29.5 mph (47 km/h) limit in no time.
We’re also wowed by the smart tech included such as the Blubrake anti-lock system, which raises anti-theft protection to levels unseen in most e-bikes. It also allows you to lock your e-bike from your smartphone. And did we mention that it charges on solar power, too?

The comfort is also heightened by sporty qualities as evidenced by the front suspension and seat post suspension. Lastly, it performs noticeably better when tackling inclines than the ST3.

Stromer ST7 Model Line
The ST7 is Stromer’s current pinnacle, and it’s quick to stand on its own pedestal. For one, it’s actually the only model that features electronic shifting, which technically translates to automatic, intelligent gear shifting complemented by the carbon belt drive.
The e-bike also delivers the most torque at 52 Nm via its 940W motor. But what definitely captures any e-bike rider’s fancy is the whopping 160 miles (260 km) of riding range that you can get from the integrated 1440Wh battery alone. That surely makes up for the long charging time (around 7 hours).

Other than the shining, bordering on glaring specs of this e-bike, it’s certainly no different in other essential areas that Stromer e-bikes excel in.

Does Stromer Sell E-Bike Accessories?
Most of Stromer’s trademark components and accessories are available in its dealers. You can buy their batteries, chargers, tires, helmets, baskets, and bags from them.
Does the Brand Offer a Manufacturer’s Warranty?
The majority of Stromer models offer a manufacturer warranty that lasts for 2 years. As such, it only covers new Stromer products that have been found to be defective. It includes repair or a full replacement.
Only the frame and battery have their own warranties, which cover 10 years and 2 years, respectively. Regarding the battery, Stromer explicitly states that it will cover 75% of the capacity within the two-year period.
Does Stromer Offer a Test Period for Its E-Bikes?
Riders interested in the ST1, ST2, ST3, and ST5 may avail of the test period available for the said models. These test rides are readily available for checking and booking on Stromer’s main site. However, you have to contact or visit the nearest dealer in your area to schedule them.
What Do E-Bike Riders Like About Stromer?
Stromer is evidently not just about eye candy and prestige; although, many riders would undoubtedly derive immense satisfaction from owning what is widely deemed as a Porsche-like e-bike.
