DYU, owned by Hongkong DYU Technology Limited, was founded by Leven Lee, who had a passion for engineering since a very young age. With a Master’s Degree from Peking University, he has been focused on developing electric bikes that support micro-mobility. This is to ensure the development of the clean energy industry.

The DYU D3F E-bike is a true value for money and is one of the most affordable e-bikes. A lightweight e-bike weighing 17 kg (38 pounds) has some fantastic features. The rear-hub motor has a power capacity of 240W, and the battery is quite large for a small e-bike.

This is the one for you if you are looking for a budget e-bike. It’s suitable for neighborhood drives and goes smoothly uphill and downhill. But, on unpaved roads or for obstacles like pebbles, the DYU D3F can take a beating.

Here’s a synopsis of the DYU D3F E-bike.

The Best Features of the DYU D3F E-bike Model

A Compact & Lightweight E-bike

The e-bike weighs 17kg/38 pounds, and an adult can carry it in one hand. The wheels are only 14 inches, and the electric bike has a tiny frame. An adult can easily drive this e-bike, but it is preferable for a kid. It is perfect for individuals with a height ranging from 4ft 11 inches to 6ft 1 inch.

The size of the e-bike is an absolutely lovable aspect of this micro e-bike. It’s a folding e-bike, meaning you can fold it, pack it in your car, and take it anywhere with you. The width of the e-bike after folding is 200mm, which makes it highly portable, and storage does not occupy much space.

Strong Make & Design

The 240 Watt rear hub motor produces a maximum speed of up to 15.5 mph (25 km/h), making this small e-bike fast. The 44.6″ wheelbase does wonders for storage but may have drawbacks in providing an occasionally less-than-smooth ride.

The 14″ wheels on this motor provide an impressive mechanical advantage and make it great for climbing hills, but they can’t handle all kinds of terrain – small pebbles can look like boulders.

The e-bike performs superbly on small hills, especially with manual pedaling. A point to note: The DYU D3F does not have a derailleur since it is a single-speed e-bike. Therefore, there are no gears to switch. The motor’s power is robust enough for paved city roads that are flat and clear.

DYU has independently designed this easy, lightweight, and stylish e-bike and holds patents in the US, Europe, and other regions.

The DYU D3F is an affordably priced e-bike. It comes with a one-year warranty (comprehensive), and there’s a 14-day return policy. Shipping is not free, though, which is the case with most e-bike sellers.

Overall, it’s a good choice for those who wish to enjoy riding an electric bike without spending too much.

Safety Features

The e-bike has several in-built safety features that make it a dependable vehicle. There’s a headlight that’s quite bright, making it a good choice even for night rides. Furthermore, the tail light and rear fog light ensure better visibility after sunset and in foggy weather conditions, respectively. Thus, safety is guaranteed on the road, to a certain extent, as the lights help other vehicles notice you.

The other aspect is the presence of mechanical disc brakes rather than rim brakes. Plus, there are motor inhibitors. In short, when you want to stop the e-bike, you need to press the brake levers, which automatically cuts off the motor and brings the e-bike to a complete stop in the shortest possible distance.

Lastly, DYU D3F comes with IP54 waterproof rating, which means you can safely ride this e-bike in light rain and puddles.

The battery is placed inside a plastic case and positioned between the top and the down tube. The 36 Volt battery gives about 10 Amp of electric current to the e-bike for adventures up to 37 miles (60 km) away.

Your range may be affected depending on usage – going full throttle frequently could cut the estimated range by half – between 20-30 miles (30-50), but pedaling with cadence sensing helps preserve battery life for longer rides up to 30-37 miles (50-60 km). Every journey is unique; mileage will vary according to the path you take, electric assistance, and other factors!
