Tenways is clear proof that the e-bike industry is still enjoying robust growth. Launched only as early as 2021 in Europe and the US, the company has already made a mark as a cost-effective option for the average urban e-bike rider and commuter.

Its reason for founding is similar to many e-bike companies out there. Tenways has committed itself to creating top-quality e-bikes while providing a reliable and environment-friendly riding option for people. And, true enough, it walks the talk by designing sustainable models and launching tree-planting initiatives through its Just One Tree program.
Its headquarters are in the Netherlands, but it is a Chinese electric mobility firm. The brand doesn’t make clear what its name stands for. Still, it’s open to easy interpretation, especially considering its mission and vision.

Is Tenways a Good E-bike Brand to Buy?
For the value for money and affordability, it’s hard to pass what Tenways has to offer. It ticks the proper checkboxes by providing a significant riding range for far less and keeping its models’ weight down. It’s a brand primarily praised for its smooth riding experience and in-depth knowledge of urban riding.

The company’s youth becomes quickly apparent in its evidently sparse catalog. All three models belong to the city category, but the CGO800S is clearly more comfortable and commuting-inclined. We’re inclined to say that simply because they adopt a sportier geometry. However, they’re obviously also meant for the general commute as well.

You don’t need to look further than the qualities mentioned above to know the standout attributes of these e-bikes. As an e-bike rider who has since become familiar with the glaring downsides in the industry, wouldn’t you readily welcome low costs, lighter weight models, and, all the while, superb riding ranges, and intuitive features?
It’s a company that doesn’t mind having a low quantity of models as long as the quality is assured. The CGO600 wouldn’t have become the “iconic best-seller” that it is otherwise.
Tenways CGO600
When talking about this e-bike series, it’s become infinitely better to focus on the CGO600 Pro since it is the one that unlocks the full potential of the CGO600 model.
It kept all the qualities that made the original model great: the simple, single-speed drivetrain, slim discrete and sporty design, excellent magnetic torque sensor, hydraulic disc brakes, and just overall spectacularly specced for its price.
The Pro version only makes it more interesting by reducing the already light weight in the original to just 16 kg (35 lbs) and 17 kg (37 lbs) for the Europe and US models, respectively.

The next one is, of course, the battery. Now packing 360Wh, it can give you up to 100 km or a little over 60 miles of riding range – all for a comparatively budget-friendly price, at least, as far as most e-bike price tags go. However, we have to make it clear that the 62-mile riding range only applies to the EU version.
The upgrade also made the battery removable, which is another plus for charging convenience. Basically, the Pro version addressed all the negative feedback received by the original, so it’s safe to say that Tenways listens to its clients.
The tech, as represented by the dedicated app and minimalist LED display, gives you all the pertinent stats and information you need while riding. They’re okay in general.
We can say the same for the puncture-proof tires, which let you ride it on light trails like rail trails, forest service roads, etc. – as well as the accessories such as the front lights and mudguards.
Tenways CGO800
With the CGO800S, comfort takes the front seat thanks to the low-step frame and the relaxed riding position. The design maintains the sleek minimalism that Tenways is slowly becoming known for.
The brand also wisely integrates front suspension, making the e-bike more versatile regarding the roads and trails it can take on without compromising the comfort it prioritizes.
Its slightly more powerful battery tops at 374Wh, but the riding range still tops at 100 km (60 miles). It’s also slightly heavier at 19 kg (42 lbs), but the 250W rear hub motor and intuitive torque sensor can offset that.
It’s also a single-speed, and the more we compare its features and components to the CGO600 Pro, the more we see the similarities. It won’t be pushing it to say that the 800S is just a more relaxed version of that same e-bike and clearly belongs to the same price range.
Being more of a commuter, it does incorporate more accessories, such as a rear rack and kickstand.
Tenways AGO X
Unlike the existing TENWAYS range, like the CGO600 PRO or CGO800S, which are powered by a rear hub motor with belt drive, the AGO X offers a Bafang M410 mid-motor with 250W power and Shimano 10-speed drivetrain.
With maximum engine torque of 80Nm, this fairly responsive setup is ideally optimized for quick acceleration, hauling loads, and tackling steep grades with ease without spoiling a smooth and intuitive driving experience.
Robust and compatible with a range of accessories, this e-bike comes with a rear rack that can support 25 kg (55 lbs) of extra load. The 29-inch CST puncture-proof tires provide the traction needed on a variety of road surfaces.
On the safety side, there are front and rear lights, compliant with the STVZO standard, which are integrated into the frame, not to mention the saddle and the raised handlebars to ensure a comfortable ride.
For rougher terrain beyond city streets, the AGO X is equipped with an SR SUNTOUR locking fork and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.
The AGO X offers a 6061 aluminum frame and a total weight of 27kg (60 lbs). As for autonomy, a 504 Wh portable battery, perfectly integrated into the frame, has the capacity to offer up to 100 km (60 miles) of assisted riding.
Does Tenways Offer E-Bike Accessories?
At present,t you can buy pannier bags, mudguards, rear carriers, kickstands, and backpacks – all brand exclusive.
Does it offer a manufacturer’s warranty for its e-bikes?
All e-bikes come with a two-year warranty that covers electronic components and those that aren’t susceptible to wear and tear. This includes most of the vital ones, such as the battery, motor, and torque sensor, to cite a few.
Several parts also come with specific one-year warranties: pedals, hydraulic disc brakes, and display panels. Other components are protected for a shorter time (e.g., 3 months and 6 months), including the tires, seats, discs, grips, saddles, brake pads, and seat tube clamps.
The warranty won’t cover the loss of those components related to crime, negligence, non-adherence to the owner’s manual, alterations, water damage, and errors in installation and usage of the e-bike.
Does Tenways offer a test period for interested riders?
No official test or trial period is being offered as of this writing.
What do most e-bike riders like about Tenways?
Most certainly love that you’ll be able to enjoy an e-bike with close to mid-range and high-end specs and features for far less money. Its models are awfully beginner-friendly because of the simple drivetrain.
The other minimalistic features take the complexities out of urban e-bike riding.
Overall, it’s a brand that has earned a reputation for being both a safe and affordable option. This is why it’s become a close rival of other more established brands like Van Moof, despite its new market presence.
