However, the price of the Nakamura E-Summit 710 mountain e-bike is less than 999 euros. It is astonishing and surprising at the same time because this bike is manufactured and assembled in France and benefits from a good set of technical characteristics.

Nakamura E-Summit 710: assembled in France
One disadvantage of low-cost mountain e-bikes is that their design is always sloppy. However, it is not the case with this bike. Nakamura e-summit 710 benefits from neat finished and remarkable quality of manufacturing.
To make the design and frame prominent, it is painted with red and black along with a few touches of gray.
The semi-integrated battery on this e-bike is housed on the main tube and does not overflow or ruin the structure of the e-bike. However, the architecture or structure of the e-bike is such that it does not allow the rider to add a bottle cage.
Speaking about the 250-watt motor, it is well-integrated in the rear hub. This is an economical choice made by Nakamura as integrating a motor in the pedal unit might have been more expensive. Moreover, it also leads to a certain imbalance in climbing trails, especially where there is a tendency to slip down.

The control system of the Nakamura E-Summit 710 electric mountain bike is located on the left side of the handlebar unit. However, for your convenience, you can always use another cycling application, such as Strava, for example. Stave app is associated with a connected watch or another tracker and keeps you updated about your journey by displaying the distance traveled, the route, traveled segments and other useful information.
Good choice of equipment for this simple e-bike model
The manufacturing quality largely depends on the choice of equipment by the manufacturer. The equipment of Nakamura E-Summit 710 is simply amazing.
Starting with the fork, it is a Suntour XCR 32 lo-coil, which offers 120 mm of travel. It is comfortable as well as configurable.
The bike’s brakes are simply amazing. Its braking system is based on a Promax hydraulic system with a 180 mm disc at the front and 160 mm disc at the rear.
Its braking system gives off a feeling of security and power to the user that’s very rare in low-cost mountain bikes.
On the other hand, we did not like Nakamura’s choices in terms of transmission. It opted for a 9-speed chainring only and a fairly reduced cassette with 32 teeth. Its result is bad as it forces the pilot to wind up when the pedal level assistance reaches its maximum level. In short, not a strong choice.
We observed the same for the pedals and handles. Looks like Nakamura was searching for savings and did not make a wise choice when it came to handles and pedals. To replace them, one must put a bit of budget aside and buy new ones.
Very good for forest tracks
Rather light with its 21 kg, the E-Summit 710 is also very handy, thanks to its well-thought-out frame. It is best expressed and used on small forest paths or not too steep paths.

Logically, given its price and its small engine integrated in the rear hub, it encounters more difficulties on steep roads and more technical climbs. Its rather nervous engine lacks linearity and gives the impression of providing the entire torque from the first pedal stroke.
This feeling can be confusing during the first few kilometers but can be understood over time. It is certainly not ideal, but again, at less than 1000 euros it is a compromise that a cyclist will willingly make.
Nakamura e-bike autonomy; the X factor
The autonomy of pedal assistance depends not only on the size of its driver but also on the terrain on which he rides along with climatic conditions. The autonomy of the Nakamura E-Summit 710 is necessarily limited by its “small” 375-Watt battery. However, it still allows you to take advantage of assistance in most rides.
Thus, on a flat course, at an intermediate level of assistance, it is possible to exceed 50 km on a single charge. On the other hand, ride on a more uneven ground and you will have drained the whole battery fast. At full speed, at the maximum level of assistance, on a hilly path, the battery would support you for around 30 km.
The data confirms that the Intersport Nakamura e-mountain bike is more suitable for short rides in the forest than for trail riding. As for recharging, it can be done directly on the bike, or after the battery is removed from the frame.

Despite all the good attributes of this bike, its reliability is still a vague question. To evaluate this data and come to a firm verdict is almost impossible in a limited time. This would require a few hundred kilometers of testing.

Some reviews show that some cyclists have experienced engine failures, particularly due to an unusual noise in the rear wheel.
Intersport has confirmed that the motor gears could sometimes be noisy. This concern was corrected in more recent releases.
