Himiway Cobra Pro comes with a 1000W motor, 10-speed gear shift system, and thumb throttle for a smooth ride and fabulous all-terrain performance. Its most remarkable feature, however, is its 4.8” tires, making it one of the widest and the fattest fat tire e-bikes in the US.

The Pro model is an upgrade of the classic Cobra model from Himiway. The brand claims in one of its online posts that the Cobra Pro is one of its most powerful e-bikes yet.

A fact check: The model takes its name Cobra Pro, after the King Cobra. The e-bike slithers through all kinds of terrains and extreme weather conditions with its soft tail design and the widest tires, just like its namesake.

Let us now give you a rundown of the features that make Himiway Cobra Pro the safest bet as a long-range fat tire e-bike.

Himiway Cobra Pro: A Fat Tire E-bike Best For Long-Range Rides

#1: Fattest Fat Tire E-Bike

Fat e-bikes are having the best moment right now. These are electric bikes with tires having a width of more than 4 inches. Electric bikes with tires as wide as 4.5” or even 4.8” are often referred to as super fat tires.

The Himiway Cobra Pro, with a tire as wide as 4.8”, is one of the fattest fat tire e-bikes available in the US. It has been engineered as an all-terrain e-bike, ideal for city rides, off-road drives, and moving with equal ease on beaches and mountains.

One of the distinct advantages of the wide tire is that it requires minimal pressure, between 5 to 30 PS. When moving on snow or mud, the tires offer a superior grip plus shock absorption power.

This brings us to an interesting question. Why should you prefer an e-bike with a fat tire like Himiway Cobra Pro? Here’s the answer:

Fat tires are good for e-bikes –

  • Fat tires are best if you are looking for comfortable and balanced rides with better control.
  • Fat tires mean that the e-bike has better capability to move through off-roads, even if the rider may not have professional handling skills for such terrains.
  • Fat tires mean that you can ride the e-bike on beaches stress-free.
  • The chances of the tire going flat is minimal.
  • Fat tires are cool and quite trendy at the moment. They look good and keep you pepped up to cycle and stay fit.

A piece of advice: It doesn’t mean that fat tires are 100% foolproof. Fat tire e-bikes are usually heavier compared to standard e-bikes. Transportation and portability can be challenging with the fat tires’ increased height and size.

#2: Suitable for Long-Range Drives

With a powerful motor and battery combo, you can expect the Himiway Cobra Pro to do a good run of almost 80 miles (130 km) per charge (with pedal assist).

The Cobra Pro has an excellent off-terrain range, and here are the reasons:

Mid-drive Motor & Gear

The mid-drive motor is one of the most powerful tools in the e-bike segment. This is because its position helps balance the center of gravity. As a result, drive quality is optimal with smooth acceleration, making off-road drives easier with precision in gear switching.

Besides that, the motor with a high torque of 160 Nm offers faster acceleration, making it one of the most aggressive motors on the road. It has ten gears vis-a-vis seven on the non-Pro version. A higher number of gears mean more options for difficult terrains and challenging conditions.

An Advanced Suspension System

Himiway Cobra Pro has a four-bar linkage suspension system. It forms a four-sided geometrical figure with the seat tube, rocker, chain stay, and seat stays. This is a first in the US market in the middle-class e-bike segment.

The advantage of the technology is that it helps absorb vibrations and the rear-upward force. The coil suspension offers robust stability at the front.

The combo of the two suspension systems ensures safety in extreme driving conditions and difficult terrains.

Long Range Battery

The Cobra Pro can clock a range of 60 to 80 miles (95 to 130 km) thanks to its upgraded battery performance. For a full charge, it takes about seven hours. The 960W 20Ah battery offers a smooth, uninterrupted drive of up to 80 miles (130 km) on pedal assist and up to 60 miles (95 km) on electric power.

This enhanced battery technology also helps save power because one charge can give more range. The upgraded battery has a longer life (80% capacity even after a thousand charges). This, in turn, is good for the environment.

On the not-so-bright side is the price of the Cobra Pro, which is $3,999. It is pretty costly compared to the Himiway Cobra version for the additional 250 watts and other enhanced features. Still, this price tag seems right when compared to similar models.
