Fallen from the sky with both wings… “Angell” is the new electrically assisted bicycle that will be produced, from July, by the company SEB (Société d’Emboutissage de Bourgogne), at its Is-sur-Tille site in Côte-d’Or.
This is the first such decision for the group, which until now has been accustomed to the production of household appliances only. The group is known in particular for its aluminum pressure cooker. But another market is opening up to the company today, that of electric bicycles.
Under an industrial and capital-intensive agreement, Groupe SEB becomes Angell’s exclusive industrial partner. The Group will be responsible for the industrialization and manufacturing of Angell smart-bikes at its historic factory in Is-sur-Tille (Côte d’Or).Groupe SEB communication
An electric bicycle designed and produced in France
This electric bicycle was conceptualized by Marc Simoncini, the founder of the Meetic dating site. During a press presentation in 2019, the businessman revealed that the new two-wheeler had been in development already for three years.
The French designer Ora-ïto designed the model. The Angell bicycle will be produced in Is-sur-Tille, where Groupe SEB employs 200 people. Several tens of thousands of units a year should be produced.

Angell e-bike: remote assistance
Angell is a smart e-bike but still with standard mechanics. To repair a flat tire, change a wheel, or a chain, cyclists will not need any specific training. For its part, Angell Bike assures that for any electronic bug in the system, assistance will be possible, which will be done via remotely controlling its software, installed on the e-bike.
