The Fuell brand arrives with the launch of its electric bicycle Flluid. This electric bike targets the premium buyer segment with an overwhelming range of 200 kilometers.
A young start-up launched in 2019, Fuell is the product of a trio of experienced entrepreneurs: Erik Buell and his 15 years at Harley-Davidson, former director of Renault Sport Racing Frédéric Vasseur, and François-Xavier Terny, founder of the Vanguard Moto company. Quickly, the young company made its name through two products.
An electric motorcycle on one side (Flow) and a trendy electric bike on the other (Flluid). Now the company has decided to take the market by storm by launching the marketing of its electric cycle Flluid. The Flluid machine has a lot of advantages to offer.
Record e-bike autonomy
Flluid indeed claims a gargantuan autonomy of 200 kilometers on one charge. This is something that has not been seen much before. However, it is doubtful that this range can be reached with the most powerful assistance mode – there are five in total – the brand does not communicate on this subject, but future tests should confirm it or not.
To get to this range, the electric bike benefits from a double removable battery with a capacity of 1000 Wh. According to information published a year ago, recharging up to 80% takes 2h30. You should count another 2h30 to get to 100%.
Not the lightest e-bike on the market
A colour screen indicating speed, distance travelled, range and assistance levels is installed on the handlebars, which also houses a USB port. The Flluid e-bike has eight gears, a carbon belt transmission that is less messy than a conventional chain and a torque of 100 Nm.
On the security side, the screen is protected by a PIN code, while a ring lock has been attached to the frame to block the rear wheel. A GPS tracker nested in the frame can also be installed as an option.
Total weight of Flluid e-bike reaches … 30 kilos. An rather high weight for an electric bike, which usually comes to around 20-25 kilos.
Mid-range price bracket
Visually, this electric bicycle looks very imposing with a massive frame and thick tubes. The e-bike also quite impressive with its dimensions.
We should expect a smaller version to arrive next year. And, it probably will be equipped with a step-through frame. We shall see.
The Flluid-1, which is e-bike’s full name, is sold at the price of 3,995 euros including tax. Colours are silver, charcoal grey and blue.
A SpeedBike variation (maximum speed 45 km/h, 4,195 euros) is also available. Beware though that a speed e-bike is not considered a traditional electric bike and requires a helmet, gloves, insurance and a license plate.
