Easy E-Biking - travelling on e-bike, helping to make electric biking practical and fun

For a freewheeler holiday, discover the wonders of France on an electrically-assisted bicycle.

Lake Aiguebelette

100 km from Lyon and very close to Chambéry in Savoie, Lake Aiguebelette is a real “emerald pearl set in a mountain setting”, ideal for swimming and relaxing with its beautiful beaches. It is possible to go around it via pretty little country roads, with picturesque villages along the way…

Camargue

Take the direction of Rhône delta for a gentle discovery of the Camargue Regional Natural Park. On your e-bike, you can admire rice fields and pink flamingos, bulls, and horses. There are various possible routes, from 20 to 70 km (around the pond of Vaccarès).

Luberon

Explore the heart of the Provence region and its sublime preserved villages. Thanks to electric bicycles, you will be able to reach even the most “perched” of them (Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Cadenet, Lauris…). So many opportunities to discover castles, museums, gardens, and typical French restaurants. The Provencal Colorado and the ochre road are also open to you.

The Basque Coast

Connecting Biarritz to Saint-Jean-de-Luz by following the Atlantic Ocean, this is the challenge that awaits you on this particularly iodized route. On the way, you will cross Bidart and Guéthary. The opportunity to visit both cities… and eat good ice cream on the way. On arrival, the itinerary will allow you to discover the hidden creeks of Acotz for a well-deserved swim.

The route runs from Biarritz to Saint-Jean-de-Luz – 48 km, altitude difference 516 m. More info: www.lesrouesdelilou.com/circuits-gps-tour-pays-basque-cote-basque/. Rent your e-bike: at Les Roues de Lilou (19€ for half a day) – www.lesrouesdelilou.com

Dordogne and Périgord

Lauze roofs, cobbled streets, and blonde stone walls… Sarlat in Périgord is already a destination in itself. But the surroundings of the city of art also deserve all our attention. What could be better than a family outing to see for yourself? This is what the Voie Verte offers at the start of the city. A flat route of 35 kilometers long that winds its way through a wooded area following the Dordogne River to Cazoulès.

The Voie Verte (24 or 33 km then return). More info: rando.dordogne.fr. Rent your e-bike: at Liberty-Cycle.com (30€ for half a day) – www.liberty-cycle.com/location-de-velos/

The Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel

This is a unique way to discover the Breton corsair city and the Emerald Coast. A two- or three-day itinerary starting from Saint-Malo and passing through Cancale before reaching the famous rocky islet by crossing the salt meadows, this is an adventure of about 135 km (round trip) that opens up to you. It is also possible to make shorter but equally exhilarating loops in the region.

The mythical Galibier Pass

Would you like to offer yourself a Tour de France pass without having to train for months? That’s what electrically assisted bikes now make possible. Head for Valloire to measure yourself against the myth that culminates at 2645 meters. Charging stations installed at the start and at the Verneys ensure that your e-bike will accompany you all the way up.

The ascent of the Galibier from Valloire – 18 km, altitude difference 1215 m. More info: www.valloire.net/patrimoine-naturel/col-du-galibier-valloire. Rent your e-bike: at Magnin Sports (30€ for half a day) – www.location-velo-valloire.fr

Alsace and its vineyards

For a two or three day tour, it is possible to connect Strasbourg to Mulhouse by winding through the vineyards. The electrical assistance will only take a bite out of the many hillsides in the region. You can also opt for a day or even half-day loops, taking the time to do some tastings (well managed!) and, why not, visit the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg.

The route starts from Marlenheim to Thann – 134 km, altitude difference 1350 m. More info: www.alsaceavelo.fr/itineraires/veloroutes-des-canaux-et-vignoble. Rent your e-bike: at AlsaceVéloPassion (45€ per day) – www.alsacevelopassion.fr.
