Blix Dubbel is a cargo/utility e-bike with its class adjustable settings in the Blix App. As a class 3 e-bike, it offers a pedal-assisted speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), and as a class 2 e-bike, you have a throttle-assisted speed of up to 20 mph (32 km/h).

The Dubbel has been created to make daily travel easy and eco-friendly, especially with a child or cargo. No need to take your car out to drop your kid at school or run earrings to the grocery store!

Besides, you can carry more loads in the front as well as the basket – thanks to the availability of the basket that mounts to the rear or front rack. Transporting loads of varying capacities is easy-peasy with Blix Dubbel

However, that doesn’t mean that it is no fun riding this e-bike model. On the contrary, it has a sporty feel, making it a good choice even if carrying cargo is not your top priority.

So, what makes Dubbel a decent pick amongst all its competitors? Let’s find out.

Clutter-free Clean Design Showcasing Minimalism

This is undoubtedly a big advantage. A utility/cargo e-bike with an uncluttered, neat design is a beneficial feature for the rider. The front and rear racks are integrated seamlessly into the frame. The step-thru design means that your height is not a limitation when riding this e-bike.

It has a modular design which means that it is equipped with Smart Mounting Points at the front and back. In other words, you can pick from a range of accessories to help carry more load. Moreover, the design offers the rider the flexibility to customize the e-bike as per their need and as the situation demands.

The designers of Dubbel need a pat on the back. The detailing makes it a utility-friendly option for one and all. The integrated design also adds an aesthetic appeal to the Dubbel.

You can shop for accessories from Blix for added cargo-carrying capacity. A front rack on the head tube comes with a 50lb (23 kg) capacity. A large basket can be mounted on the front or rear rack.

At the back, you can mount two such baskets next to one another. The Dubbel frame bag can be directly mounted onto the frame to keep your personal belongings safe.

A Thule Yepp child seat or a padded Rear Rack cushion can be added to the e-bike for increased comfort of the young passengers. A cushioned Passenger Seat for adult passengers is an added bonus.

Equip the e-bike with passenger foot pegs so that they can rest their feet on a ride. The Front Basket is for the headtube that stays straight even when you make a turn.

Dual Battery & Other Powerful Specs

Two batteries mean more charging capacity. The total charge is 1,228Wh (48V, 672Wh per battery), and it offers a range of up to 80 miles (130 km) per charge.

That is huge, a sound backup system in place when you have to cover too long distances. No stops, no compromises, and no need to recharge in between.

The batteries power up the 1350W brushless hub motor offering 90Nm torque. It gives the required push on hilly terrains. The Blix has an eight-speed drivetrain extending the gear range on either end. The e-bike has stout brakes that give absolute control to the rider.

Another noteworthy feature is the auto power cut-off when the brake levers are pressed. This makes your e-bike thoroughly safe on all terrains.

The integrated LED lights are 80 LUX each making it easy to ride through the darkness. The handlebar-mounted bell and the puncture-resistant tires make the e-bike reliable on the road.

Blix App

The rider can connect via Bluetooth to the Blix App. It helps enhance the ride, where you are updated with details of your ride. For example, you get to know more about ride data, over-the-air software updates, community feeds, etc.

It also helps you toggle between Classes 2 and 3 for enhanced performance. Class 2 provides a 20 mph maximum speed, while Class 3 gives a maximum of 28 mph (45 km/h).

Besides this, the App helps know the charge left in the batteries and connects with the Blix e-biking community. The other parameters that the App help with are the navigation routes and quick access to customer support.

Things That Could Have Been Better

While there are hardly any points to complain about the Dubbel, there is still some scope for improvement.

One aspect is the two-legged kickstand. It is a big help when you are loading cargo, but when the kickstand is up, it is pretty low or very close to the ground. So, you need to be extra careful while driving close to a curb, or else you might nick one.

The other thing that could definitely have been better is the display. It displays only a single data point at a time. You must use your smartphone to see multiple data points and connect via the Blix App.
